Back in the Saddle again

Well here I go again! I have taken a solid 2 weeks off and filled it with tacos and barbecue and no exercise. And while I did quite enjoy the tacos, I did gain 6 pounds. But today is day one! I also have a goal that I am now working towards. I have signed up to participate in the Spartan Race! It has always been a goal and dream for me to complete either the Spartan Race or Tough Mudder. So I am so excited to run the Spartan Race, but I got to train for it first. So I thought it would be best to start today!

I went to a little run to start things out, and it was real slow going! Only went a few miles and walked most the way. But I really didn’t want to push myself too far. I just tried hard to focus on just finishing the run. It was so humid (which is new for me), it was nice though. By the end of the run I felt so great! I was worried that it would be really tough and would make me feel discouraged, but it didn’t! I felt energized and pumped!

After my run I came home and did my least favorite thing…meal prepping. I did get somethings to help make it a little easier. I got to use my food processor for the first time! It worked great for chopping up all my veggies, and made the whole meal prepping easier. I still hate it though. But in the past I have had the most success with meal prepping so I’m going to go for it again, and hopefully I will have the same results.

Overall I think that this has been a great first day back in the saddle, and hopefully I will like all the meals that I worked so hard to make today!
